Deer Resistant Perennials

In our experience, and in the experience of others, most of our perennials are deer resistant. However, it is always good to remember that deer resistant does not mean deer proof - but these are traditionally good choices that the deer will usually leave alone.

Our current selection of deer resistant perennials include:

Achillea, Ajuga, Allium, Aquilegia, Amsonia, Artemisia, Astilbe, Asclepias, Armeria, Arenaria, Baptisia, Brunnera, Campanula, Coreopsis, Cerastium, Ceratostigma, Cimicifuga, Delphinium, Dicentra, Echinacea, Epimedium, Eryngium, Euphorbia, Ferns, Hardy Geranium, Galium, Geum, Gyspophila, Helleborus, Iris, Iberis, Kniphofia, Lavender, Leucanthemum, Liatris, Ligularia, Lobelia, Lupins, Monarda, Nepeta, Oenothera, Origanum, Ornamental Grasses, Peonies, Penstemon, Perovskia, Primula, Pulmonaria, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Sempervivum, Scabiosa, Spigelia, Sedum, Trollius, and Veronica…

…and likely several more. :)

Of course, there are some perennials that the deer love to eat. They might look good in your garden, but they also look like dinner for a deer!
Our current selection perennials that are not deer resistant include:

Daylillies, Dianthus, Hostas, Polemonium, Tall Phlox, Tall Sedum, Yellow Heucheras.
