Moonrock Hydrangea has large panicles made up of many small florets. However, unlike other Hydrangeas, these blooms burst forth each growing season as long, pointed lime green panicles that mature from the bottom up. Each green panicle opens to white until all florets open. Then the florets age to pink before eventually turning tan for the entire winter. If you were to observe the flower at its peak bloom, it would look a lot like the dappled surface of the moon!
Rising above each stem, the showy blooms last all summer. In autumn, they dry to create lovely winter interest in the fall and winter, the sturdy stems make these wonderful cut flowers and dried floral decor both fresh or dried!
